Seven Care Services Supports Children’s Mental Health Week 2025: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself
Posted on 4th February 2025
At Seven Care Services, we are proud to support Children’s Mental Health Week 2025, which takes place from 3rd to 9th February 2025. This year’s theme, “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself”, encourages children and young people to embrace self-awareness and explore how understanding themselves can help them build resilience, confidence, and personal growth.
As a provider of autism and ADHD assessments, supported living, and specialist care services, we see firsthand the importance of empowering children to recognise their strengths, understand their emotions, and develop coping strategies that support their mental well-being.
Why Self-Awareness Matters for Children's Mental Health
Self-awareness is a crucial part of a child's emotional and psychological development. It helps young people:
✅ Recognise their strengths, challenges, and emotions.
✅ Develop healthy coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety.
✅ Build confidence and self-esteem.
✅ Foster positive relationships with others.
✅ Navigate challenges in school, friendships, and daily life.
For children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and mental health needs, understanding themselves is even more important. It allows them to express their needs, advocate for themselves, and build a strong sense of identity.
How Seven Care Services Supports Young People’s Mental Health
1. Autism & ADHD Assessments: Understanding & Empowering Young Minds
Many children experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, or emotional distress may have undiagnosed autism or ADHD. Our specialist assessment clinics provide timely, NICE-compliant autism and ADHD assessments to help children and their families gain a better understanding of their needs and access appropriate support.
2. Supporting Self-Discovery in Our Care Services
At Seven Care Services, we work with young people to help them understand and embrace their neurodiversity. Whether through:
Personalised support plans in our supported living schemes.
Helping young people develop self-care strategies to manage anxiety, sensory processing challenges, or attention difficulties.
Encouraging independence in daily life through structured activities and routines.
We ensure that children and young people are supported in discovering their strengths and growing their confidence.
3. Creating Safe & Supportive Spaces for Growth
For children in our supported living accommodation, a secure and nurturing environment plays a vital role in their mental health. Our services include:
🌿 A sensory-friendly environment to support emotional regulation.
💬 One-to-one emotional support from trained staff.
🧩 Encouraging self-expression through creative and social activities.
4. Staff Training & Awareness
To truly support young people’s mental health, professionals working with them need to understand the importance of self-awareness and resilience. That’s why we provide comprehensive staff training to ensure our care teams:
Understand neurodiversity and mental health.
Promote positive self-identity in young people.
Encourage children to explore their emotions in a safe and supportive way.
How You Can Support Children’s Mental Health This Week
As parents, caregivers, educators, and professionals, we all play a role in helping children and young people get to know themselves and grow. Here’s how you can help:
💡 Encourage self-reflection – Help children recognise their strengths and what makes them unique.
🗣 Talk about emotions openly – Create a safe space where children feel comfortable sharing their feelings.
🎨 Promote creative self-expression – Activities like art, music, or journaling help children explore their emotions.
🧘♂️ Teach coping strategies – Mindfulness, movement, and relaxation techniques can support emotional well-being.
💪 Celebrate small achievements – Encourage children to take pride in their progress and personal growth.
Looking Ahead: Seven Care Services’ Commitment to Young People
At Seven Care Services, we believe that every child should feel valued, understood, and supported. As we continue to expand our services—including new autism and ADHD assessment clinics and supported living accommodation in Warwickshire—we remain committed to improving the mental health and well-being of children across the UK.
This Children’s Mental Health Week 2025, let’s work together to help young people understand themselves, build resilience, and grow into confident individuals.
