Parent Anxiety Workshops
Posted on 27th July 2021
Our Parent Anxiety Workshops are specifically targeted at parents and carers with children aged 4-11 years old, who are struggling with anxiety. The workshops are designed to provide a better understanding of anxiety in children and offer evidence-based interventions that parents and carers can use at home.
The workshops are rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and focus on the role of thoughts, feelings and behaviour in maintaining anxiety. Parents and carers will be supported to develop the confidence and skills needed to help their children manage their fears and worries.
Workshop Delivery Format
The workshops will be delivered remotely across 3 sessions. Each session will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and will take place via Microsoft Teams. All workshops are managed by a Clinical Psychologist and delivered by members of the Psychology Team.
Session Breakdown
The first session will provide psychoeducation to help parents and carers better understand anxiety and the factors that may maintain it.
Sessions 2 and 3 will then help parents and carers develop practical strategies to help their children overcome their anxieties.
Our aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment for parents to develop a calm, consistent and clear parenting style.
