Carers Week 2026 takes place from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th June, providing an opportunity for us all to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution that carers make across the United Kingdom.
At Seven Care Services, we know that behind every positive outcome, every smile, every milestone achieved, and every moment of reassurance, there is often a dedicated carer making it possible. Carers are the backbone of health and social care, providing practical support, emotional encouragement, advocacy, and compassion to those who need it most.
This Carers Week, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all carers – both paid professionals and unpaid family carers – who work tirelessly to support individuals to live fulfilling, meaningful and independent lives.
Recognising the Role of Carers
Caring is much more than completing tasks or following care plans. It is about building relationships, understanding individual needs, promoting dignity, and empowering people to achieve their goals.
Every day, our teams support people with a range of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and complex health requirements. We see first-hand the dedication that carers demonstrate in helping people to access their communities, maintain relationships, attend appointments, develop life skills, and enjoy the activities that matter most to them.
Carers often become advocates, teachers, companions and a reassuring presence during difficult times. Their work requires patience, resilience, empathy and professionalism.
The Importance of Family Carers
This week is also an opportunity to recognise the invaluable contribution made by unpaid family carers. Parents, siblings, spouses, children and friends frequently provide round-the-clock support to loved ones, often balancing caring responsibilities alongside employment, education and their own health needs.
Many family carers do not see themselves as carers; they simply see themselves as doing what they can for someone they love. However, their role is vital, and they deserve recognition, support and appreciation.
At Seven Care Services, we strive to work in partnership with families, recognising that they are often the experts in understanding the needs, preferences and aspirations of those they care for.
Investing in Our Workforce
At Seven Care Services, we are committed to supporting our care teams through high-quality training, clinical oversight and opportunities for professional development. We believe that carers who feel valued, supported and empowered are better equipped to provide outstanding care.
Our staff receive specialist training relevant to the people they support, including autism awareness, positive behaviour support, safeguarding, medication management, manual handling, epilepsy awareness, mental health support and the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
We recognise that caring can be emotionally and physically demanding, and we remain committed to creating a workplace culture where our staff feel listened to, respected and appreciated.
Celebrating Success
Throughout Carers Week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to acknowledge the carers in their lives. Whether it is a simple thank you, a message of appreciation, or sharing a positive story, small gestures can make a significant difference.
We are privileged to witness examples of exceptional care every day. From supporting someone to regain confidence in the community, to helping a young person achieve greater independence, carers play a pivotal role in transforming lives.
These successes are not always measured in large milestones. Sometimes they are found in everyday moments: encouraging someone to try a new activity, helping an individual attend a healthcare appointment, supporting communication, or simply being there to listen.
A Message from Seven Care Services
As we mark Carers Week 2026, we would like to say a sincere thank you to every carer who continues to make a difference.
Your kindness, dedication and unwavering commitment do not go unnoticed. You provide comfort during times of uncertainty, celebrate achievements both big and small, and enable people to live with dignity, choice and independence.
To all carers across our communities, and especially to the incredible teams and families connected with Seven Care Services – thank you for everything you do.
