Autism (also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, which affects how people perceive the world around them. Approximately 1 in 100 people in the UK are on the autistic spectrum (National Autistic Society), with some people requiring a bit more support with their difficulties than others.

Autism is typically diagnosed during a child’s developmental stages, but in other cases, can also be diagnosed later on in life. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is a common tool used as part of the comprehensive diagnostic assessment for autism. The ADOS tool can only be delivered by fully trained clinicians and assesses whether someone meets the criteria for diagnosis or is presenting with certain features of autism.

Due to waiting lists for autism diagnostic assessments taking up to two years within the NHS, we are now offering this service at Seven Care Services. Our team of Clinical Psychologists are fully trained and able to provide ADOS assessments, either remotely or face-to-face.
