Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we at Seven Care Services proudly stand alongside the millions of autistic individuals and their families to raise awareness, celebrate diversity, and champion acceptance.

Autism is not a one-size-fits-all diagnosis. It is a spectrum, and every person’s experience is unique. At Seven Care Services, we see beyond labels — we see personalities, talents, interests, and strengths. We work every day to empower the people we support, helping them live fulfilling, independent lives within their communities.

What is Autism?
Autism is a lifelong developmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, and experiences the world around them. Many autistic individuals also have sensory differences, learning disabilities, or co-occurring mental health needs. It is estimated that around 1 in 100 people in the UK are autistic, although the actual figure may be higher.

Our Commitment to Autism Support
At Seven Care Services, autism awareness isn’t just for one day — it’s part of our everyday practice.

We specialise in providing person-centred care to autistic children, young people, and adults with complex needs across Coventry, Warwickshire, and the wider Midlands area. Whether it’s through our supported living services, domiciliary care, or our face-to-face autism assessment clinics, our focus is always on respect, understanding, and quality of life.

Our skilled teams receive specialist training to understand autism and associated conditions such as learning disabilities and mental health needs. We listen to our clients and their families to ensure that their voice is at the heart of their care and support.

Building a More Inclusive World
This year’s theme for Autism Awareness Day is "Empowering Autistic Voices." At Seven Care Services, we believe that true inclusion starts with listening. We encourage our staff, partners, and local communities to learn, understand, and celebrate autistic people for who they are.

We also continue to work in partnership with the NHS, local authorities, and families to reduce waiting lists for autism assessments and ensure timely, quality diagnoses.

How You Can Get Involved
Educate yourself and others about autism.
Challenge stereotypes and misconceptions.
Celebrate neurodiversity and the strengths of autistic individuals.
Support local autism-friendly initiatives in Coventry, Warwickshire, and beyond.
